JewishColumbus seeks a part-time development or communications professional interested in engagement and remote-life-innovation to coordinate the LIFE & LEGACY planned giving program, assist in launching and implementing a new Professional Advisor Program, and creating opportunities to engage and educate Fund Holders.

Overview of programs:

LIFE & LEGACY is a 4-year partnership program, launched in Columbus in February 2020, of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) that assists communities across North America, through partnerships with Jewish Federations and Foundations to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit local Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations and other Jewish entities.  Through training, support and monetary incentives LIFE & LEGACY motivates Jewish organizations to secure legacy gifts, steward donors and integrate legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of the Jewish community. The Columbus Cohort includes 18 Jewish organizations and agencies and 100+ community volunteer legacy solicitors.

A new Professional Advisor Program will provide education and networking for professional advisors (including but not limited to CPAs, wealth advisors, wealth managers, estate attorneys, insurance agents) interested in incorporating legacy giving in estate planning conversations.

As a Community Foundation, Fund Holder engagement is critical.  JewishColumbus seeks innovative ways to engage with Donor Advised Fund Holders around giving affinity and providing financial education related to philanthropic planning.


Director of Planned Giving & Major Gifts


Serve as liaison to 18 teams of LIFE & LEGACY volunteers, program consultant

-conduct regular communications

-keep them on track with deadlines

-motivate them to achieve their goals

-schedule and coordinate 100+ person online trainings

-track team and community program progress

-market program to community


Coordinate Professional Advisor Program

-assist with conducting regular communications and marketing

-schedule and coordinate online trainings


Coordinate Fund Holder Engagement

-assist in creating new and innovative ways to communicate with Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Holders

-plan and implement remote events for Fund Holders

-assist with creation of Foundation Quarterly News

-provide administrative support to coordinate DAF Advisory Committee


Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and a baseline understanding of fundraising


Applicants preferred with an interest in planned giving, professional development, and inspiring community giving


Ideal candidates possess the following traits: excellent time management skills, detail-oriented project management skills, excellence in coordinating online engagement (Zoom meetings, break-out sessions, and remote meeting participation), exemplary communications skills in working with partners, understanding of Microsoft excel, Adobe design software, and possess infectious optimism and enthusiasm.
